In the 1990s, seventeen-year-old Vivek is sent away from home to prepare for India’s fiercely competitive IIT entrance exams, where coaching schedules and family expectations leave little room for a normal adolescence. Bodhisattva Sharma is Vivek, caught between homesickness, teenage awkwardness, and the pressure to keep up; back home, the strain lands on the adults too, with Sheeba Chaddha and Geeta Agrawal Sharma among the family members feeling the weight of the same ambition.
