Tropic Thunder
ActionAdventureComedyWar107 min
A group of self-absorbed actors heads to Southeast Asia to make an oversized Vietnam War movie, only to be abandoned in the jungle when the production spins out of control. Ben Stiller is Tugg Speedman, a fading action star surrounded by Robert Downey Jr.'s method-obsessed Kirk Lazarus and Jack Black's hard-living comic Jeff Portnoy, while a director determined to keep shooting blurs the line between performance and actual danger. The film takes aim at Hollywood vanity, war-movie prestige, and actors who mistake total commitment for talent.
