In Los Angeles, teenager Rocky Dennis grows up with a rare bone disorder that drastically changes the shape of his face, making every trip outside a test of how strangers will react. At home, he’s raised by his tough, hard-living mother Rusty, played by Cher, in a house full of bikers, noise, and fierce loyalty. As Rocky pushes for an ordinary adolescence, he chases school, friendship, and first love while learning how quickly pity can turn into cruelty. The story follows the pull between Rusty’s protectiveness and Rocky’s determination to be seen as more than his condition, as everyday milestones become fights for dignity and independence.
