Sent to a war-torn island off Sri Lanka, an Indian intelligence operative is tasked with breaking a rebel group as the conflict around him grows more tangled. John Abraham is the officer at the center of the mission, moving through covert operations, military pressure, and the political fallout of India’s involvement in the region. Along the way he meets Nargis Fakhri’s journalist, whose work places her in the same volatile landscape. Framed by the late 1980s and early 1990s and the unrest around Jaffna, the film ties its action to espionage, insurgency, and a fraught moment in South Asian politics.
