After a workplace shooting in New Orleans, a widow’s civil case against a gun manufacturer turns into a battle over who can control the jury. Dustin Hoffman’s Wendell Rohr goes up against Gene Hackman’s Rankin Fitch, a polished jury consultant who profiles, pressures, and manipulates potential jurors to protect the defense. Inside the sequestered panel, Nicholas Easter (John Cusack) and Marlee (Rachel Weisz) make contact with both sides, claiming they can swing the verdict for a price. While the case is argued in court, the real contest moves through hotel rooms, surveillance setups, and back-channel deals across the French Quarter.
