The Invisible Man
HorrorSci-Fi71 min
After an experiment on himself leaves him invisible, scientist Jack Griffin holes up in a snowy English village, swathed in bandages and dark glasses while he searches for a way to reverse it. Claude Rains is Griffin, a brilliant researcher whose secrecy and mounting aggression unsettle everyone around him, while Gloria Stuart’s Flora watches the man she knows slip further from reach. Directed by James Whale, the film begins with a mysterious lodger at a country inn and widens into a manhunt as the drug’s side effects and Griffin’s need for control turn his discovery into a public threat.
