Sent to New Orleans after the murder of a British agent, James Bond follows a trail that runs through Harlem and on to Jamaica, where it points to Mr. Big, a crime boss linked to a major heroin operation. Roger Moore takes over as 007 here, facing Yaphet Kotto’s Kananga, whose public image hides another identity. Along the way, Bond meets Solitaire (Jane Seymour), a tarot reader whose connection to the case makes her central to the investigation. Jazz funerals, bayou boat chases, crocodile farms, and voodoo imagery give this Bond mission a distinct American-Caribbean setting.
