Nicole (Melissa Joan Hart) and Adrian Grenier’s Chase are next-door neighbors at the same high school, but they move in different circles. To make their actual crushes jealous, they strike a deal: pretend to date, show up together, and let the gossip do the work. What starts as a scheme gets more complicated as prom-season drama and plans for a gala centennial celebration keep pushing them into each other’s orbit. Stephen Collins and Faye Grant are part of the adult world around them, as the movie leans into late-’90s teen social hierarchies, misunderstandings, and the awkward gap between who these two think they want and who’s been right next door.
