I'm Not Scared

CrimeDramaMysteryThriller108 min

During a blistering summer in 1970s southern Italy, nine-year-old Michele finds a chained boy hidden in an abandoned farmhouse and begins to suspect that the adults in his tiny village are protecting something terrible. Giuseppe Cristiano is Michele, spending his days racing through wheat fields with the other children while growing quieter at home as the discovery settles in. Aitana Sánchez-Gijón is his mother, part of a close rural community where doors stay shut against the heat and questions are left hanging. The sun-bleached countryside and Michele’s child’s-eye view keep the mystery intimate even as the crime around him grows larger.
