The Starving Games
ActionAdventureComedySci-Fi83 min
When her younger sister is picked for the 75th annual Starving Games, Maiara Walsh is Kantmiss Evershot, a teen who volunteers and heads into a nationally televised battle where survival might also earn an old ham, a foot-long sub coupon, and a partially eaten pickle. Cody Christian's Peter, her geeky crush and fellow tribute from District 12, gets pulled into the spectacle alongside her as the contest is overseen by President Snowballs. The film riffs on The Hunger Games with broad slapstick, arena spoofs, and a steady stream of pop-culture gags.
