Igby Goes Down

ComedyDrama98 min

Igby Slocumb is a rebellious, sarcastic 17-year-old at war with the old-money New York life he was born into and convinced there has to be something better beyond it. Kieran Culkin is Igby, pushing back against a family defined by instability, status, and control: a schizophrenic father, a distant mother, and an older brother whose political ambition shades into menace. Susan Sarandon’s matriarch keeps the family image intact, while Ryan Phillippe gives Igby a rival under the same roof. Claire Danes and Jeff Goldblum drift through Igby’s orbit as he tries to outrun privilege and the expectations attached to his name.
