Raj Malhotra is a luckless architect whose fortunes seem to change after he crosses paths with Priya, a social activist. Shahid Kapoor's Raj starts to see her as his lucky charm just as a long-awaited opportunity appears: a contract connected to demolishing the community center Priya is trying to protect. Vidya Balan gives Priya a grounded presence, making their central conflict as much about values as attraction. The film builds its romance around that tug-of-war between Raj's ambition and Priya's cause, with Shah Rukh Khan serving as narrator and Juhi Chawla making a guest appearance.
