Keep Your Right Up
ComedyDramaFantasy82 min
A perfectionist filmmaker barrels through a jumble of sketches, chasing the finest possible performance while actors drift between fictional and real identities. Jean-Luc Godard is the exacting director at the center, with Jane Birkin and Dominique Lavanant among the performers cycling through multiple roles as scenes splinter, reset, and collide. Rock music runs beneath the action, and the film keeps shifting between on-set farce, fragmented storytelling, and the spectacle of a filmmaker pushing everyone around him past the edge of patience.
