To Each His Own

DramaRomance122 min

Olivia de Havilland is Jody Norris, a middle-aged American in wartime London whose thoughts drift back to her small-town youth during World War I, when a romance with a charming pilot, Bart Cosgrove (John Lund), left her with a son she could not openly keep. After an adoption scheme sends the boy to another family, Jody spends years staying close to his life while remaining outside it. Roland Culver’s Lord Desham, an Englishman she meets during a London night watch, becomes the quiet witness to a history marked by secrecy, social pressure, and the long reach of a mother’s attachment.
