The Core

ActionAdventureSci-FiThriller136 min

When geophysicist Dr. Josh Keyes discovers that Earth’s inner core has stopped rotating, the planet’s magnetic field begins collapsing, unleashing deadly anomalies on the surface. Aaron Eckhart is Keyes, pulled into a desperate mission to the center of the Earth aboard an experimental subterranean vessel. Hilary Swank joins the crew as pilot Rebecca Childs, with Delroy Lindo and Stanley Tucci among the scientists tasked with restarting the core before the atmosphere gives out. The film moves from city-scale disaster to a sealed-in underground expedition, with collapsing systems, improvised science, and a crew trying to keep their vessel intact long enough to reach the planet’s center.
