After a series of devastating attacks wipes out power, cities, and most of the population, teenager Cassie Sullivan is left on the run in a world where no one can be trusted. Separated from her younger brother during a military evacuation, she sets out alone to find him while avoiding snipers, disease, and an unseen enemy that may already be hiding among survivors. As the invasion enters a new phase, Cassie crosses paths with a mysterious young man who offers help, even as another group of teenagers is drawn into a brutal training program to fight back. Chloë Grace Moretz leads a story where survival depends on guessing who is still human.
