The Invention of Lying
ComedyFantasyRomance100 min
In a world where nobody can say anything but the plain truth, every conversation is blunt, awkward, and brutally honest. Mark, a struggling screenwriter, discovers something no one else can do: he can lie. What starts as a way to dodge embarrassment and solve immediate problems quickly turns into a shortcut to money, status, and influence, because everyone around him takes his words at face value. But as his invented stories spread, the gap between what people believe and what is true gets harder to control. Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner anchor a romance that puts Mark’s new power under pressure just as his life finally starts to change.
