House of 1000 Corpses
Horror89 min
Two young couples head into the backwoods of Texas chasing urban legends about serial killers, then wind up trapped by a bizarre rural family whose interest in murder is anything but mythical. Rob Zombie’s debut keeps the setup rooted in Halloween road-trip curiosity before pushing it into a chaotic house of captivity, sadism, and ritual. Sid Haig is one of the most memorable faces in the clan, with Sheri Moon Zombie alongside him as the group’s nightmare hosts close in. The film mixes grindhouse messiness, grotesque humor, and lurid imagery with a setting that feels cut off from the rest of the world.
