The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

ComedyDramaMusicalMysteryRomanceWestern133 min

Across six stories set on the American frontier, this anthology moves from campfire-song absurdity to sudden violence and bad luck. A cheerful singing gunslinger drifts into a deadly showdown; a bank robber’s day keeps taking stranger turns; an impresario and his traveling performer fight for a living on a harsh circuit. Elsewhere, a solitary prospector chases a gold strike, a wagon train carries a woman toward an uncertain future, and a stagecoach ride gathers uneasy passengers with very different ideas about what awaits them. The episodes stand alone, but together they sketch a West where jokes, loneliness, greed, and death travel side by side.
