The Astronaut Farmer

ActionAdventureComedyDramaFamilySci-Fi104 min

Texas rancher Charles Farmer left the Air Force to save his family land, but he never let go of his plan to go to space. Billy Bob Thornton is Charlie, an indebted astrophysicist building a rocket in his barn while the bank circles, the FAA blocks his flight plan, and the FBI starts watching his fuel purchases. At home, Virginia Madsen's Audie helps keep the household steady as Charlie's project turns their ranch into a launch site. The story ties its homemade space-race premise to family pressures, public scrutiny, and Charlie’s refusal to abandon the idea he’s carried for years.
