The Getaway
ActionAdventureCrimeThriller123 min
Fresh out of prison after cutting a deal with a corrupt politician, Doc McCoy (Steve McQueen) takes part in a Texas bank job with his wife Carol, only to watch the score collapse into betrayal and a run for the Mexican border. Ali MacGraw is Carol, steady at Doc’s side as the McCoys try to stay ahead of both the law and the gunmen after their money. Directed by Sam Peckinpah, the film keeps its focus on the couple’s shifting trust, the people waiting to sell them out, and the rough roadside path out of Texas.
