A crew of miniature aliens arrives in New York inside an unusual spacecraft: a full-size human body named Dave. Eddie Murphy is the blank-faced outer shell, while the tiny command crew steers him through sidewalks, small talk, and a mission to save their own planet. Things get messier when Dave’s encounter with an Earth woman, played by Elizabeth Banks, starts pulling the ship off course. The comedy comes from everyday human behavior seen from an alien control room, with dates, traffic, and city life becoming obstacles for a visitor who looks human but has no idea how people actually work.
