In 2029, with the human resistance still fighting Skynet, John Connor sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 Los Angeles to protect Sarah Connor and preserve the future. Instead, Jai Courtney’s Reese arrives in a splintered version of the past, where Sarah (Emilia Clarke) is already armed, informed, and waiting for the machines. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the aging Terminator known as the Guardian, a protector tied to Sarah’s survival. As the timeline shifts under them, the mission expands from stopping one assassin to confronting a new version of the war against artificial intelligence.
