The Gods Must Be Crazy
ActionAdventureComedy109 min
When a Coca-Cola bottle drops from an airplane into Xi’s Kalahari community, a peaceful routine is thrown off by what the tribe takes to be a gift from the gods. N!Xau is Xi, a hunter-gatherer who decides the object has to be returned, setting off across Southern Africa with a mission that keeps colliding with the wider world. Along the way, his path crosses a biologist (Marius Weyers), a newly arrived schoolteacher (Sandra Prinsloo), and a group of guerrillas. The story moves between desert life and farcical encounters as one everyday object causes confusion well beyond the village.
