Before Midnight

DramaRomance109 min

Nine years after their last chapter, Jesse and Celine are no longer the strangers who met on a train in Vienna but a couple living in Paris with twin daughters, trying to hold onto a summer in Greece as it slips away. Ethan Hawke's Jesse has just said goodbye to his teenage son at the airport, and Julie Delpy is Celine, his sharp, unsparing partner. Over long meals with friends and a rare night alone in a hotel, questions about family, compromise, and the life they've built together start pushing old tensions back into view in Richard Linklater's third film about the pair.
