Crime is so scarce in the Swedish village of Högboträsk that the local police spend their shifts drinking coffee, eating hot dogs, and chasing the occasional runaway cow. When the police management board decides the station may be unnecessary, that quiet arrangement suddenly becomes a problem for the officers who depend on it. Fares Fares and Torkel Petersson are among the small-town cops at the center of the scramble, as village routines and station-house boredom give way to a fight to keep their jobs. The setup keeps one foot in deadpan small-community comedy and the other in a police story with almost nothing to police.
