Jonathan Frid is Barnabas Collins, a vampire searching for a cure so he can marry Maggie Evans, a woman who resembles his long-lost fiancée Josette. Kathryn Leigh Scott’s Maggie becomes the focus of a romance tangled up with blood, memory, and Barnabas’s refusal to let the past stay buried. As he turns to medicine in hopes of ending his affliction, the Collins household fills with suspicion, fear, and the sense that an old tragedy is repeating itself. Vampirism, lost love, and reincarnation drive the story toward a dark, Gothic confrontation.
