Eighth Grade

ComedyDrama94 min

Thirteen-year-old Kayla is limping toward the end of eighth grade, trying to make it through the last week of middle school before high school starts. Elsie Fisher is Kayla, a suburban teen who posts earnest YouTube pep talks while struggling offline with anxiety, social media, and the daily embarrassments of school. Bo Burnham keeps the focus on the small routines and awkward encounters that define her days, from classroom status games to moments at home, with Josh Hamilton among the adults around her as she searches for some steadier version of herself.
