The Stoning of Soraya M.

CrimeDrama116 min

In a remote Iranian village, a journalist’s car breaks down, leaving him stranded long enough to hear a story the community wants buried. An older woman, Zahra, pulls him aside and recounts how her niece Soraya becomes the target of a false accusation after her husband decides he wants rid of her. As village leaders and neighbors close ranks, private cruelty turns into a public judgment dressed up as justice. The film follows the steps that lead to that sentence, showing how fear, power, and silence trap Soraya while Zahra risks everything to make sure what happened is told.
