The Mukherjee Commission hearings turn the mystery of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s death into a clash of competing narratives. As an investigative journalist argues that Bose survived as the ascetic Gumnaami Baba, the government’s lawyer pushes the official plane-crash account, and a third theory — death in Russia — enters the debate. The film dramatizes the 1999-2005 hearings as testimony, cross-examination, and political memory collide. Prosenjit Chatterjee appears in a dual role at the center of the case, as Subhas Chandra Bose and Gumnaami Baba, with the story moving between public inquiry and a long-running national obsession.
