In a retro-future New York City, two strangers sign up for a pharmaceutical trial that promises to fix the mind without therapy or pain. Annie and Owen arrive with different wounds and very little reason to trust anyone, but the experiment links them inside a series of shifting mental worlds where memory, fantasy, and trauma bleed together. As the treatment moves through its stages, what is supposed to be a controlled test starts to slip. The people running it have their own problems, the technology behaves unpredictably, and the bond forming between Annie and Owen begins to matter as much as whatever cure they came for.
