Jessica Fletcher is a mystery novelist in Cabot Cove, Maine, whose quiet life keeps turning into murder investigations. Whether a killing shakes her small town or draws her into trouble while traveling across the country and abroad, she notices what the police and the suspects miss: the lies, grudges, and small inconsistencies that point to the truth. Each case begins with a fresh death and a circle of people with reasons to hide what they know, and Jessica steadily works through alibis, secrets, and false leads to uncover the killer. Angela Lansbury leads the series, with Tom Bosley appearing as the local sheriff who often finds himself working alongside her.
