Escape from New York

ActionAdventureSci-Fi99 min

In 1997, Manhattan is no longer a city but a walled prison, and when the U.S. president’s plane crashes inside, the government sends in Snake Plissken. Kurt Russell is Snake, a one-eyed war veteran and convicted robber offered a deal if he can reach the president (Donald Pleasence) and bring him back within 24 hours. Directed by John Carpenter, the film turns New York into a near-future island of barricades, abandoned streets, and prisoner-controlled territory, built around a rescue mission that moves through the wreckage of a locked-down city.
