Mulan

ActionAdventureAnimationComedyFamilyFantasyMusicalWar88 min

After Imperial China orders one man from every family into the army, Mulan takes her ailing father’s place and hides in plain sight as a young male recruit. Ming-Na Wen voices Mulan as she tries to survive military training, a Hun invasion, and the threat of execution if her identity is exposed. Eddie Murphy’s Mushu, a fast-talking guardian dragon, follows her into camp, while BD Wong is Captain Li Shang, the officer drilling her unit into shape. Hand-drawn animation, musical numbers, and the pull between family duty and rigid tradition run through the story.
