Last Year at Marienbad

DramaMysteryRomance95 min

At a grand hotel gathering, a man insists that he and a woman met there the year before, while she denies remembering any such encounter. Giorgio Albertazzi is the persistent visitor, circling Delphine Seyrig’s elegant, evasive guest through mirrored corridors, formal gardens, and drawing rooms where other guests drift through card games and formal conversation. As his account of their possible affair grows more detailed, memory and invention start to overlap inside a château-like world of statues, repetition, and doubt.
