Qala

Drama119 min

In a bygone era of Indian music, a young singer rises to fame while carrying the weight of a childhood shaped by her mother's harsh demands and conditional love. Success brings her into recording studios, public adoration, and a circle of rivals and admirers, but it does not quiet the guilt, insecurity, and resentment that follow her. As old wounds deepen, the bond between mother and daughter turns into a source of constant pressure, and every achievement feels tied to a painful need for approval. With Tripti Dimri as Qala and Swastika Mukherjee as the mother whose judgment rules her life, the film follows ambition and acclaim curdling into isolation and unraveling.
