Donnie Darko
DramaFantasyMysterySci-FiThriller114 min
After he narrowly avoids a freak accident, Jake Gyllenhaal is Donnie Darko, a troubled suburban teenager in October 1988 whose sleepwalking leads him into visions of a man in a rabbit suit named Frank. Frank tells Donnie the world will end in 28 days and nudges him toward a string of destructive acts, while school, family life, and a new romance keep colliding with whatever is happening to him. The film threads high-school routines, therapy sessions, and Halloween-night unease, with Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, and Patrick Swayze among the people in Donnie’s orbit.
