Pregnant and alone in Kolkata during Durga Puja, Vidya Balan is Vidya Bagchi, a woman who arrives from London to look for her missing husband and runs into a wall of blank records and denials. As she moves through police stations, offices, and crowded streets, the case keeps shifting beneath her. Parambrata Chattopadhyay’s Rana, a junior police officer, becomes her closest ally, while officials and witnesses offer fragments that never quite line up. The search unfolds against the noise and crush of the festival, with each new lead making the city feel larger, stranger, and harder to read.
