Sent to live with relatives in a quiet seaside town after an illness, withdrawn teenager Anna becomes fixated on a weathered mansion across the marsh and on Marnie, the girl who seems to appear there as if from nowhere. Their secret friendship draws Anna out of her isolation, but Marnie’s presence raises questions the closer they get. Memories, old photographs, and the empty house itself begin to pull Anna toward something hidden in the past. Sara Takatsuki leads the Japanese voice cast, with Kasumi Arimura as Marnie.
