Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.

ComedyDramaFamily107 min

After her family leaves New York City for suburban New Jersey, 11-year-old Margaret Simon is dealing with a new school, a new circle of friends, and the start of puberty all at once. Abby Ryder Fortson is Margaret, caught between fitting in and figuring out what growing up is supposed to look like. Rachel McAdams' Barbara is having her own uneasy adjustment to life outside the city, while Kathy Bates gives Margaret's grandmother Sylvia a loving, meddlesome presence that keeps pulling on the family. The story stays close to the small embarrassments, private worries, and shifting bonds of early adolescence.
