At budget summer camp Camp Northstar, head counselor Tripper (Bill Murray) is barely more grown-up than the kids he’s supposed to supervise. He takes an awkward loner named Rudy under his wing, and Chris Makepeace’s Rudy becomes the quiet center of the camp’s pranks, crushes, and small humiliations. As Northstar gears up for its annual Olympiad against wealthier rival Camp Mohawk, Tripper tries to rally the campers while Rudy nudges him toward fellow counselor Roxanne. The movie stays close to the loose, rowdy rhythms of camp life, with Murray’s wisecracking charm setting the tone.
