Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see ghosts for as long as he can remember, but meeting Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki pulls him into a hidden war against evil spirits called Hollows. Masakazu Morita is Ichigo, a teenager suddenly dealing with a surge of spiritual power and the duty to protect both the living and the dead, while Rukia (Fumiko Orikasa) introduces him to the rules of the spirit world. What begins with ghost sightings and a supernatural encounter quickly expands into sword fights, afterlife hierarchies, and the responsibilities that come with Ichigo’s new role.
