The Blackening

ComedyHorrorMysteryThriller97 min

A Juneteenth weekend reunion turns deadly when seven Black friends head to a remote cabin and discover a masked killer waiting with a vendetta. Grace Byers and Dewayne Perkins are among the group, forced to answer the killer’s taunts and use every bit of horror-movie know-how they have as the getaway turns into a trap. The film pulls slasher rules, broad comedy, and the long history between old friends into the same setup, so their jokes, grudges, and group politics all become part of the mystery of who is targeting them and why.
