In the House

ComedyDramaMysteryThriller105 min

A disenchanted literature teacher becomes fixated on a student's writing assignment about infiltrating a classmate's family. Each week, the boy returns with another installment, turning ordinary visits to a wealthy suburban home into a sharper, stranger game of observation, manipulation, and invention. As the teacher pushes him to keep going, the boundary between honest reporting and storytelling starts to blur, and the lives on the page begin to affect the lives outside it. Fabrice Luchini and Ernst Umhauer anchor a story that turns a classroom exercise into a contest over who is using whom, and how far curiosity should go.
