Be Cool

ComedyCrime119 min

Disillusioned with Hollywood, John Travolta’s Chili Palmer leaves the movie business for the music world, where a connection with a recently widowed executive’s wife draws him into record-label politics and mob pressure. Uma Thurman is the widow at the center of Chili’s latest scheme, while Vince Vaughn and Cedric the Entertainer turn the industry’s back rooms into another arena for hustling and score-settling. Clubs, contract talks, and celebrity drop-ins replace studio meetings, but Chili’s cool-headed fixer instincts stay the same as he tries to turn a new singer into a star without getting swallowed by the people around her.
