Takeshi Kitano is Murakawa, an aging Tokyo yakuza who’s grown tired of gangster life. Sent to Okinawa with a few henchmen to help mediate a feud between rival clans, he soon realizes the dispute is smaller than advertised, and an ambush leaves the survivors hiding out on a beach while they wait for further instructions. Aya Kokumai and Susumu Terajima are among the faces in Murakawa’s uneasy circle as the story moves between gang-business routine, stretches of stillness by the shore, and sudden bursts of violence far from Tokyo.
