A Little Princess

DramaFamilyFantasy97 min

Sent to a New York boarding school when her father leaves to fight in World War I, Sara Crewe is a wealthy, imaginative child whose stories and self-possession put her at odds with the school’s severe headmistress. Liesel Matthews is Sara, holding tight to her inner world as Eleanor Bron’s Miss Minchin tries to stamp out any sign of independence. Alfonso Cuarón frames the school as both refuge and prison, where class divisions sharpen and Sara’s friendship with Becky (Vanessa Lee Chester), a servant girl, becomes central as her place in the house suddenly changes.
