Rendition

DramaThriller122 min

When an Egyptian-born engineer vanishes on a flight to Washington, his wife begins a desperate search while a CIA analyst at a secret detention facility outside the U.S. starts to see what his assignment requires. Reese Witherspoon is the American wife pushing through official silence; Jake Gyllenhaal's analyst is caught between orders and the machinery around an off-the-books interrogation. Omar Metwally is the missing man at the center of both stories, with Meryl Streep and Alan Arkin among the officials and observers circling the case. The film draws on the CIA practice of extraordinary rendition and the case of Khalid El-Masri.
