Lim Soo-jung is Young-goon, a young woman admitted to a psychiatric hospital after deciding she’s a cyborg, recharging herself with a transistor radio and refusing to eat human food. There she meets Rain’s Il-soon, a fellow patient who becomes her closest companion and takes it on himself to help keep her alive. Directed by Park Chan-wook, the film fills the ward with odd rituals, deadpan humor, and a fragile romance as Young-goon’s machine logic collides with the routines and relationships inside the institution.
