Radio advice host Emma Lloyd is about to marry her seemingly perfect match, Richard, when she discovers she’s already married to someone else: Patrick, a charming, irresponsible fireman with a grudge. Uma Thurman is Emma, whose on-air relationship advice helped end Patrick’s engagement; Jeffrey Dean Morgan brings a loose, needling energy to the man who engineers the mix-up. As the wedding gets thrown into confusion, Colin Firth’s Richard stands in sharp contrast to Patrick, leaving Emma caught between the orderly life she’s planned and the havoc caused by a stranger who suddenly has legal claim to her future.
